Harman develops haptic feedback system for connected cars

System help in reducing distracted driving

Harman has developed a mid-air haptic feedback system in collaboration with the UK-based Ultrahaptics, the company said in a press release on 16 February. Harman combined Ultrahaptic's expertise in haptic sensation and gestural interfaces with its Graphic User Interface (GUI) to develop a unified system with highly integrated haptic and audio-visual component. The technology allows drivers to control vehicle’s infotainment and audio systems with hand gestures.
