Baraja unveils ‘Spectrum-Scan’ lidar for self-driving cars
Company’s new lidar uses prism-like optics and shifting wavelengths for object detection
Baraja has introduced a ‘Spectrum-Scan’ lidar for use in self-driving cars, the Australia-based start-up said in a press release on 12 July. According to Baraja its Spectrum-Scan technology uses prism-like optics and shifting wavelength to create ‘powerful’ eyes for vehicles for safe, fully autonomous driving. The technology enables Baraja’s lidar to deliver high performance and long range in a system, built from components already available in the market. The lidar allows self-driving cars to control and adjust scan patterns in real-time to adapt to complex road conditions.
