Volvo Cars recalls 167,000 vehicles globally to fix tailgate issue

In the affected vehicles, tailgate lifting arm may separate, causing noise or loss of functions

Volvo Cars is recalling 167,000 vehicles globally to fix a possible fault with the electric tailgate mechanism, The Associated Press reported on 6 February. The recall covers Volvo XC60 mid-size SUV, built in 2018 and 2019. The recall also includes 3,923 units of the XC60 sold in Australia, according to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
