UK government to support advanced trials of autonomous vehicles

The government is strengthening Code of Practice to set clearer expectations for safe and responsible trials

The UK government is developing a process to support advanced trials of automated vehicles, according to a press release by the government on 6 February. The government has also decided to further strengthen its ‘2015 Code of Practice’ for testing automated vehicles to set clearer expectations for safe and responsible trials. The Code of Practice was published by the Center for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV) with a goal to create an ecosystem for testing autonomous vehicles on UK roads.
