EV ripple effect: How electrification and change in propulsion technologies can impact vehicle interiors

Before we envision the swiveling seats and retractable steering wheel operating at various autonomy levels, it is important to study the present-day repercussions that EVs would bring to vehicle interiors

One of the simplest ways to define the ongoing automotive shift could be—“the automotive world is going electric”. There are no two ways about it, and almost every OEM who has a desire to successfully sell vehicles from here on, has some plan in place to either electrify their existing product lineup or develop complete new electric vehicles from the ground up. The clock is ticking at a rapid pace for traditional gas guzzlers, and it will not be long before fossil fuels are buried away by the sands of time. On the contrary, electric vehicles (EVs) are not only the ideal replacement for fossil-run-vehicles, the amount of environmental and regulatory benefits that they bring to the table cannot be ignored. That is one of the prime reasons that OEMs around the world are trying to take on this marathon like a sprint in order to electrify vehicles as quickly as possible.
