Brose partners with IPG Photonics on advanced laser-welding technology for automotive seat structures

German supplier to invest USD6 million by 2022 to develop ICI technology

German automotive supplier Brose has partnered with US-based IPG Photonics to collaborate on the development of the first direct weld measurement technology for automotive seat rails, the company said in a press release on 8 August. According to the two partners, in-line coherent imaging (ICI) technology will improve manufacturing efficiency, streamline validation and minimize waste.
