IAA 2019: Mercedes-Benz unveils Vision EQS concept

Concept previews future all electric Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the Vision EQS electric sedan concept at the IAA 2019 in Frankfurt, Germany, the automaker said in a press release on 10 September. The concept is powered by two electric motors, one each at front and rear axle, to deliver more than 469hp power and 560lb-ft torque and allows the car to reach a speed of 60 miles per hour (100km/h) in less than 4.5 seconds. The motors get power from a roughly 100kWh lithium-ion battery pack, giving the concept a range of 435 miles (700 kilometers) on a full charge, according to WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure) estimates. The concept comes with 350kW fast-charging capacity, which would recharge the 80% of its battery in less than 20 minutes.
